In Aswan we will enjoy a sunset  Felucca sailboat ride down the Nile  while enjoying a glass of wine; We will visit Edfu Temple before sailing to Luxor arriving on August 1, 2027.   On August 2, 2027 mmid morning we will experience the 6 Minutes and 20 Second Total Solar Eclipse from the Valley of the Kings and visit the tomb of King Tutankhamen.  The following day we will visit the Temple of Karnak dedicated to the God Amon Ra, Explore Khonso Temple and the Open festival chapel.  At sunset, avoiding the heat of the day we will visit Luxor temple that was predominately built by Pharaoh Ramses II.  The following day we will sail along the Nile to Esna, Kim Ombo Temple and the Crocodile Mummification Museum. As we return to Aswan we will visit the Philadelphia temple of Isis, the goddess of love and passion. By motorboat we will discover the people of Nubia. ON Friday August 6, 2027 we return to Cairo for an overnight stay at the  Le Meridien Airport Hotel before our return flights to the USA

On August 2, 2027 a remarkable solar eclipse will occur, captivating  viewers across a narrow path stretching through parts of the world, including the historic city of Luxor Egypt  (Cairo and the pyramids will experience a partial eclipse of 40 to 55%).  This event , a total solar eclipse,  will see the moon completely obscure the sun, casting a shadow on Earth and plunging the day into temporary darkness. 

The eclipse will begin as a partial eclipse, with the moon gradually moving across the sun's disk. As the moon's shadow , or umbra, travels across the Earth, viewers within the totality will experience the full spectacle. In Luxor, this path of totality will last for several minutes, offering an unparralled view as the sky darkens, temperatures drop, and the sun's corona - its outer atmosphere - becomes visible, creating a mesmerizing halo effect around the moon.

Esna Temple: Your Egyptologist will guide you round the Greco-Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna. The beautifully preserved Great Hypostyle Hall was built during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius; it was excavated from the silt that had accumulated through centuries of annual Nile floods and is about nine meters below present-day street level.

Kom Ombo Temple: Walk to visit the temple of Kom Ombo temple, dedicated to the crocodile and falcon gods. Stop at the Crocodile Mummification Museum, where you can see crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old.
